Course Description

Professor Fox invites us to plunge down that famous passage for an in-depth look at Lewis Carroll, aka Charles Dodgson, and his muse, Alice Liddell. The journey will take you through most of Carroll’s writings and photographic work and offer a revisionary interpretation of what it all means. Whether ominous or playful, his work has had lasting impact, and Professor Fox will show you just how pervasive “everything Alice” has been right up to and including our contemporary culture. She’ll also explore how Alice’s adventures in Wonderland have inspired a number of significant artists and film makers. It’s time to take that plunge and sample the full flavor of Lewis Carroll’s genius.
