Course Description

The Scottish heroine, Flora MacDonald, is probably best known for aiding Prince Charles Edward Stuart in his escape from Skye. This earned her a stay in the Tower of London and a lasting reputation as someone who supported a little revolution as a good thing. However, when it came time to support her and her husband joined the Loyalist ranks. This short course will explore Flora’s role in the Bonnie Prince’s exit from Scotland, as well as her emigration to pre-Revolutionary America and what happened to her and her family.
