Instructor: Ken Blady, M.A., Educational Psychology, CSUEB, lecturer in history
Mr. Blady will explore the ancient Jewish roots of thought about the idea of a messiah and about Jesus. He’ll draw on the earliest rabbinical teachings and bring us right up to what modern Jewish Rabbis and scholars have to say on the subject. Blady’s exploration will include false messiahs in Jewish history, traditional Jewish viewpoints about Jesus, the Jewish roots of early Christianity, and Jesus and the Pharisees. Jesus’s mission as a great teacher, observant Jew, and only one of many messianic figures who arose in the first two centuries of the common era will not be neglected. Why did Jesus not fulfill the Jewish requirements to be viewed as the true Messiah? Come find out with Mr. Blady.
