Nature based healing or “green therapy” is much in the news. Is it a fad or can nature, in fact, play a positive role in our emotional, psychological and physical health? Using Andy Fisher’s book, Radical Ecopsychology, as a touchstone, Ms. DeRose will explore the latest insights, and four tasks suggested by Fisher within this culturally based movement. Some of them stem from the idea that we humans have become disconnected from nature itself. Just what might be the benefits of staying in tune with the awesome natural world around us and paying attention to the things it has to teach about all forms of life, including our own? Let OLLI and Ms. DeRose show you how a healthy life style just may profit from some judicious greening.
