Course Description

Literature provides us with an extraordinary lens. Through it we can re-envision and learn from the past, see the present with greater clarity, and even usefully imagine the future. The Great War, that “war to end all wars,” and the literature it prompted is more important than ever now that we have no living memories of its tragic events. So, it’s a good time to take a slog through the muddy trenches of that brutal conflict and revisit its troubled home fronts as they have been recreated in books, poetry, and even on stage. Dr. Fox and OLLI provide you with a chance to read through these troubled years, ones we should not forget. (ONLINE)
