Course Description

Traditional accounts of our revolutionary war tend to focus on battles, political leaders, and other influential men.  But these figures are just a fraction of all who fought for or against independence.  What about all the other men and women, whether European, Native American, or African, on whom the success or failure of the revolution rested?  Professor Bell has not forgotten them, and this course will explore many of their captivating stories.  OLLI is pleased to offer his perspectives on what ordinary people were experiencing, regardless of which side they chose, as the tumultuous struggle for independence unfolded.  What he’s discovered is well worth sharing.
