Course Description
In this course, we will read and discuss one short story per week. Ms. Matthews will provide informational lectures on author biographies and literary elements. Handouts, including story schedule, author biographies, and discussion questions will be provided. Stories will be selected from The Penguin Book of the Modern American Short Story, John Freeman, ed. The first story will be “The Dune” by Stephen King, on page 405 in our text, The Penguin Book of the Modern American Short Story. Students should read the first story before the session starts so we can discuss it at our first meeting.
