Course Description

Dressed in Victorian garb, Ms. Bancroft will present her book Writing Themselves into History: Emily and Matilda Bancroft in Letters and Journals. These women, the wives of Hubert Howe Bancroft, the founder of the Bancroft Library at UCB, provide women’s perspectives on life in the 1860s-90s through their writing. She will also promote saving our own memories and archives.
