The brain chemicals that make us feel good are inherited from earlier animals and controlled by a limbic brain that all mammals have in common. Your mammal brain rewards you with a chemical that feels good when you see a way to promote your survival. We don’t think this with our verbal brain. We simply “know” it at a non-verbal level and feel it chemically. It makes sense to be aware of all this, and to thus get a better handle on our ups and downs. That’s what Professor Breuning offers in this course. Join her and OLLI to help get our deep mammalian natures at peace with our busy, ever questioning minds. (IN PERSON – Event will not be recorded)
