The Presidio was a U.S. Army post for generations. Congress established the Presidio Trust in 1996, and charged it to work in partnership with the National Park Service and Golden Gate Conservancy to make the old post a destination stop for visitors. One result is the Trust’s continuing invitation to a wide range of artists to bring their creations to the Presidio and share them with the public. Now on offer is Andy Goldsworthy’s exhibit, which, as is usual with him, draws inspiration from materials at hand—twigs, leaves, and stones – all woven into magical patterns. Let OLLI and Docent Kane lead you on a 2.7 mile walk in the park, exploring Goldsworthy’s Spire, Wood Line, Tree Fall, and Earth Wall. The magic will entrance you!
