Course Description

By June of 1967, the Beatles had made plans to make a film for T.V., basically an all Paul idea.  It would be a “magic” bus trip around England, written, filmed, and edited by the Beatles.  Most of the shooting took place in September, and recording the music ate up 11 weeks.  The film was a disaster.  It suffered from weak script, embarrassingly bad acting, and poor production values.  But the album Capitol released on November 27 was another matter.  It included Paul’s gorgeous “Fool on the Hill”, George’s captivating “Blue Jay Way”, and John’s tour de force masterpiece of organized chaos “I am the Walrus.”  So it was from the depths to the heights in 1967.  Climb aboard the bus with OLLI and Professor Schultz to take a magical tour of a very magical year.
