Most people know the story of the Bounty and its expedition to Tahiti, but in this lecture Mark Jordan takes us on a journey to learn some of the lesser known details about the mission, the men, the miraculous boat journey, and the missing mutineers. The story is one of the best known events in maritime history, including the notorious Captain Bligh’s incredible 4000 mile journey in a 23 foot boat; the disappearance of mate Fletcher Christian and his mutineers; and the eventual discovery of their whereabouts 20 years later. Set sail for this intriguing lecture with OLLI and Mr. Jordan.
Pre-registration is required. If you are a Stoneridge Creek resident, be sure to note if your SRC lecture meets in-person or online. Non-Stoneridge Creek resident attendees are online ONLY.
